Linaria vulgaris epimutant at the EGRC 2011

Linaria vulgaris says hi from the Epigenetics Gordon Research Conference 2011

Yep, I know I haven't updated in a while. I will try to catch up. While at the Epigenetics Gordon Research Conference, we took a walk around Stonehill College Campus and Dr. Jean Finnegan's incredible eyes found some Linaria vulgaris growing aside the road. She even found the classical epigenetic mutant (cool !).

Wild-type Linaria vulgaris where the Lcycloidea locus controlling dorso-ventral patterning is expressed normally.

Hypermethylation of the Lcyc sequence, loss of expression of Lcyc and a dramatic change in flower patterning occur in the epimutant.
